At Val d’Isère, the quality of vacation accommodation for disabled people and people with reduced mobility (PRM) is important!
Our partners are committed to welcoming disabled visitors and holidaymakers on a daily basis. We have compiled a list of the village’s accommodations, restaurants, ski schools, parking lots and sanitary facilities that are accessible to all.

Guide Accessibility in Val d'Isère

The accessibility guide lists addresses and services specially designed for people with disabilities in Val d’Isère. It provides a detailed list of accessible locations, including information on adapted infrastructures. The guide aims to make it easier for everyone to access and take part in winter and summer activities in the village and resort.

Guide Accessible tourism

The guide “La Haute-Tarentaise comfortable for all” is adapted to all types of disability, including the elderly and parents with baby carriages. It provides clear, detailed information on transport, accommodation, activities and public services.

Chart « Pour une montagne de confort »

Val d’Isere is proud to be a signatory to the Chart « Pour une montagne de confort » which affirms our commitment to improving the reception and comfort of visitors with disabilities. The Chart guides us in a quality approach, ensuring our services such as accommodation, leisure activities and transport, are adapted for all.

Practical info

Outdoor parking lots

  • 2 spaces, at the piste traffic circle (from the Tourist Office traffic circle, go under the snow front through the tunnel).
  • 1 space, at the traffic circle in front of the Tourist Office.
  • 1 place in front of the Post Office.
  • 1 space, place Rosoleil, à la Daille (in the blue zone of the Bellecôte residence).
  • 2 parking spaces, rue Rosoleil (downstream of the boiler house).
  • 1 space, in front of the Sherpa supermarket.
  • 1 space, in front of the Centre Aquasportif.
  • 1 space, résidence les Richardes (at the bus stop in front of the gendarmerie).

Outdoor disabled parking spaces are reserved for people with vehicles displaying the GIC or GIG badge (European-sky-blue background, no others). With the disabled badge clearly visible, customers can park in these piblic spaces for up to 12 hours.

Indoor car parks

The parking lot reception area is accessible. It is located in the Parking du Centre (P0), next to the ice rink.

Sanitary

  • At the start and finish of the Olympique gondola: a step at the entrance to the toilets
  • At the arrival of the Solaise gondola: inside the Lounge
  • At the Fornet gondola departure point: to the left of the ticket offices
  • At the top of the Fornet cable car: inside the Signal high-altitude restaurant
  • Below the ESF: access ramp, signposted from the street
  • Bas de la Daille: level with the La Daille gondola ticket offices

Free shuttles

The shuttles are equipped with removable ramps that allow safe boarding and alighting for wheelchair users. Additionally, the interior of the buses is designed to provide ample and suitable space for individuals with reduced mobility, ensuring a comfortable and secure journey. The drivers, trained in welcoming and assisting people with disabilities, are always ready to help if needed, thus providing a personalized and attentive service.

Winter Cable car access

In Val d’Isère, we do everything we can to make access to the mountains easier for everyone. Our cable cars are equipped to accommodate people with disabilities, with transfer chairs available for optimal comfort. Enjoy the resort to the fullest with complete peace of mind!

The Handisport Val d’Isère association is responsible for developing and promoting a range of winter sports activities for people with disabilities. The association can lend you the equipment you need.

Alternating between Popeye and Flowy Jumper, this route is classified as difficulty “2” by the French Handisport Federation. Follow the “FTT” markers under the signs for the mountain bike trails concerned.

The entire Val Pesto trail is suitable for electric all-terrain wheelchairs. This route is classified as difficulty “2” by the FFH. There are a few narrow sections. Follow the “FTT” markers following “Val Pesto”.
