Catering New on the plate

L'Art des Mets In the Manchet valley

By opening L’Art des Mets in the unspoilt Manchet valley, Caroline and Emmanuel have set their sights on offering a committed address, where products are prepared in-house:

  • Short circuits and common sense: the majority of ingredients come from the region, organic or not, depending on the labels and friends of French producers.
  • Maintenance with Eco Label products.
  • Renovated building: optimized energy management with recycling of water and kitchen energy for heating.

Next objective: a greenhouse for summer 2025 to grow herbs and perhaps even some vegetables locally at 1900 m altitude!

L’Art des Mets is located at the crossroads of safe walking trails, cross-country ski trails and off-piste ski trails in the unspoilt Manchet valley. The restaurant is open during the day for lunch, tea or snacks, and organizes dinners in the large yurt on reservation.

Palladio Italian with a Venetian touch

From December 6, 2024, Airelles Val d’Isère will unveil an Italian restaurant concept called Palladio. Inspired by classic Italian dishes with a Venetian twist, Palladio promises an ideal culinary experience from the huge terrace opening onto the Val d’Isère snow front. The interior and exterior spaces have been specially designed by Artistic Director Christophe Tollemer.

Other culinary highlights include Matsuhisa Val d’Isère, Chef Nobu’s first restaurant in the French Alps; Le Piaf, a nightlife destination for party lovers; and La Grande Ourse, one of the village’s oldest restaurants offering classic Savoyard cuisine accompanied by live music.

Les Fils à Maman Home cooking

Les Fils à Maman is moving into the mountains with its first high-altitude address on the Val d’Isère snow front. The regressive menu of these family-style restaurants takes its cue from the Alps, with a Saucisse Purée featuring Diots de Savoie. For families, there’s a children’s menu at €12 and a return snack from the slopes with waffles and hot chocolates. The interior of the old chalet has been renovated to provide tables and benches in an authentic setting, while the new bar in the basement promises warm après-ski drinks. Outside, you can enjoy the south-facing terrace, sheltered from the wind, with breathtaking views of the Avalin peaks.

Hotels something new to discover

Experimental chalet

The Experimental Chalet Val d’Isère opens this winter in the heart of the old village, just a few steps from the snow front. Rated 4*, the hotel offers 113 rooms, suites and lofts, as well as a bar, two restaurants and a Spa with swimming pool, sauna and hammam.

The interior design is by Dorothée Meilichzon. Rooms, suites and lofts are all unique, with a hint of Savoy and Alpine forest: touches of wood rub shoulders with earthy tones, rich greens, deep blues and warm terracotta. The first restaurant blends rustic notes and tributes to Savoie, with a wood-fired oven and a menu featuring traditional dishes such as authentic mountain cheeses, tartiflette and raclette. The second restaurant breathes the spirit of the forest, echoing the downstream environment, offering generous dishes to share in a hushed atmosphere. The Experimental Chalet Val d’Isère inaugurates the sixth Experimental Cocktail Club, a veritable group landmark present in each of the hotels for après-ski cocktails, pre-dinner aperitifs and late-night drinks.

On the slopes with the ski lifts

Télécabine du Vallon : Optimized links to high-altitude sectors

Faster, more comfortable, safer and with less environmental impact, the replacement of the Vallon gondola lift this year, 2024, meets the requirements of customer satisfaction and environmental impact.
In 1972, with the Col lift, the Vallon de l’Iseran and Pisaillas sectors were made accessible. In 1982, the Vallon TCD6 was installed to improve access to high altitude, and the lift had not been changed since. The new Vallon gondola provides modernized access from the Vallon de l’Iseran to high-altitude areas:

  • Comfort, fluidity, safety: 10 seats versus 6 before, panoramic views and space.
  • 2,790 m altitude reached in just 6 min 30 vs. 12 minutes with the old aircraft, very high altitude in a very short time.
  • Limited impact on the natural environment: siting on the existing axis, maintaining the balance of wild flora and fauna, 30 pylons dismantled to clear the slope, transplantation of all protected flower species present in the project area.
