4 good reasons to ski in spring

What is it about spring in the mountains? With the sun of March and April comes a change of atmosphere, with milder temperatures, longer days and a layer of lovely soft snow.

Conditions are ideal not only for skiing but also for discovering the mountain way of life and the local gastronomy, or simply taking a break to recharge those batteries in exceptional surroundings!

1. For the pleasure of skiing in the warm spring sunshine

As the temperature rises from March onwards, you can enjoy the sensation of skiing  in the warmth of the sun, with greater freedom of movement without being encumbered by a heavy ski jacket.

At this time of year, our mountains benefit from deep snow cover and a maximum number of slopes are open, offering skiers of all levels a playground of snow that gradually softens under the mid-morning sun.

Also, there are fewer holidaymakers around in spring, which means the slopes are less crowded, offering stress-free skiing and less queueing at the lifts!

2. Skiing yes, but that's not all Our non-skiing activities

The weather is good, the sky is blue… With maximum sunshine and higher temperatures, this is the best time of year to try something new, like fat-biking, airboarding, snakesledding, yoonering, paragliding or a microlight flight, etc.

Alternatively, you can try one of the more unusual activities available at the resort! Take your pick from ice-floating, moon-biking, dog-sledding, ice-climbing and more.

3. Mountain gastronomy and après-ski partying!

There’s nothing nicer than sitting on a terrace enjoying a panoramic view of the summits, feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin and savouring delicious local food in a heavenly setting… Only in the mountains!

Come and make the most of the terraces at our many mountain restaurants at remote locations amid the slopes, waiting to serve you our must-try local specialities.

When you’ve finished on the slopes, the après-ski fun begins! What better way to enjoy the longer evenings than sipping at a cocktail out on the terrace and wiggling your hips to the beat of a DJ set at La Folie Douce or Le Cocorico?

4. Key events and top suggestions
